Hi, I'm

Joan Pascual Ribes

I'm a final-year student of a double degree in Mathematics and Engineering Physics at UPC (CFIS programme). I have research experience in applied algebraic geometry and algebraic statistics, and I'm currently training in the mathematical foundations of AI alignment.

Interests

Applied mathematics
Mathematical models for real-world problems — particularly optimisation, differential equations and numerical analysis — and how abstract mathematics translates into applications across physics, engineering and economics.
Trading and markets
Through their connection to probability, statistics and game theory.
Computer science
Data science, AI and machine learning, especially in their relation to mathematics.
